‘The Gift Of Place’ Art Exhibit Coming To Sammamish

From The Sammamish Arts Commission: The Sammamish Arts Commission is pleased to present The Gift of Place, an exhibition of work by Katherine L. Wright, a local artist and architect, who specializes in residential portraits, capturing the heartfelt spirit of place, the legacy of dwelling, and the generous memories that live around it.

The work is presented in the Commons Gallery in Sammamish City Hall and will be on view from October 8, 2018, through January 4, 2019. The exhibit consists of more than 35 examples of Katherine’s work ranging from watercolors to pencil sketches and representing locations state-wide, nationally and internationally. The community is invited to attend an artist reception at City Hall on Thursday, November 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Katherine’s life as an artist started early, having attended Cornish School for Allied Arts in 1971. A Washington State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arc hitecture, and a licensed architect, Katherine began creating illustrations for architects and realtors in 1992, eventually adding watercolors and mixed media to her milieu. She was an instructor of architectural graphics and perspective at WSU and continues to teach this subject.
